Frederick Douglass's meaning for the fourth of july

Frederick Douglass thinks that The Fourth of July is just a celebration of our own vanity and injustice to american citizens not accounted for (african americans). He thinks that the holiday celebrates hypocrisy and cover up disgraceful crimes.
